About

What’s goin’ on?

I’m a freelance writer living in Berlin, Germany, and this is my blog.  The motivation for getting one of these things was to have a place on the internet where I could link to articles or other things that I had written.  Now, being extremely limited in interwebby knowledge, one of these blog things looked alright.

So I read up on blogs and the blogosphere (or whatever it is called) and I liked the idea of them a lot.  The next step was to find a place to get one of these things.  I started with blogger, which was fine enough but then came some problems.  Firstly, Christmas intervened and I stopped writing.  Then I was too lazy to start writing again.  And then when the motivation finally arrived to start writing again (because I got off my arse and registered myself freelance) I realised that I wanted categories.  Blogger had none.  WordPress (god love ‘em) do.

What’s the blog about?

I’m not sure.  The first blog was about Berlin, and was going to be this informative, wonderful place with all kinds of information about the city.  Then I realised that there was no way I could keep up the level of posting required to do a topic like that justice, and anyway, there are websites out there that do it better.  So I stopped.

A Berlin Diary, this one, is about whatever takes my fancy, whenever I get the motivation to post it.  What I decided was: Less pressure to post equals more likely to keep posting in the long run.  But I will write a lot about Berlin, because I like it so much.

  • I most recently stumbled across your blog and have enjoyed browsing through. Since I am also living in Germany (not quite Berlin), you can be sure I will be checking in to read the latest.

  • Thanks for that…I’ll do likewise of course.

  • Greetings. I recently moved to Berlin from Barcelona as an instructor of modern history and comparative government at the John F. Kennedy Schule.

Your blog has been a both handy and interesting. Thanks you for your efforts. Feel free to peruse my blog at http://daniellazar.com/

There is a nascent page on life in Berlin. Post comments as you deem fit.

Of course, being new to town with more colleagues than friends, I cordially invite you for a bier.

    Cheers,

    Daniel

I’m an expat living in Germany too - though I’m over in the Rhineland, so not that close.

I love all your photos - you’ve got a real talent there!
